Lesson 1 of 5 · 4-sentence TITA (Indore)
Mandatory pair
Para Jumbles · for IPMAT Indore, IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT · asked in Indore 2026 SA
The idea of 4-sentence TITA (Indore)
In Indore's para-jumbles you type the order of four (sometimes five) numbered sentences, for example 3142. There are no options to eliminate, so the order must be built from the sentences themselves. Every well-made jumble has a few locks: a sentence that can only open, a pair that must sit together, and a sentence that can only close.
The exam method
- Mark the dependents. Underline every word that points backwards: this, that, these, he, she, it, they, such, the same, also, however, but, therefore, then, later. A sentence full of these cannot open.
- Pick the opener. from what is left: a definition, a proper noun introduced in full, a general claim, a date that starts a story.
- Lock one pair. Find the word with only one possible antecedent ("the three engines" → the sentence that names three engines). Write the pair down, e.g. 4-2.
- Place the last sentence. Usually only one position remains; check that it reads as an ending (summary, consequence, latest date).
- Read the whole order once. If a pointer word points to nothing, or "however" contrasts with nothing, change it.
