The idea
This is the Rohtak and SSC/bank format: the sentence is cut into three parts, (A), (B) and (C), and (D) is No error. At most one part is wrong. Rohtak printed exactly this format in 2019 and 2020 ("no errors" / "No error" as (D)); JIPMAT 2021 used a different format (see underlined-error). Every item in this bank names its rule (x_rule_id), and every rule is explained in shared/grammar_rules.json.
Textbook vs exam method
Textbook method
Read the whole sentence. Check each part against the main rule families: subject-verb agreement, verb forms and tenses, pronouns, comparison and word order, prepositions and conjunctions, nouns and articles. Mark the part that breaks a rule; if none does, choose (D).
Exam method
- Subject → verb. find the real subject (cross out "of…", "as well as…", "along with…") and check its verb.
- Time words → tense. ago/yesterday (simple past), since/for (present perfect), by the time (past perfect), by next year (future perfect), if/when (no "will").
- Pairs and fixed words. no sooner… than, hardly/scarcely… when, although (no but), unless/lest (no extra not), superior/senior/prefer + to, comply with, accused of, discuss (no about).
- Nouns and articles. advice/information/furniture (no plural), a/an by sound, "the" with epics, rivers and unique things, one of the + plural noun.
- Pronouns. object form after prepositions and verbs (between you and me), who/whom by its own clause.
- Nothing breaks?. Choose (D). Do not "fix" a correct sentence.
