Opposite meaning

The idea
A word is given and you choose the option most nearly opposite in meaning. The trap is built in: one option is a synonym, which a student who half-knows the word picks because it "goes with" the word. Rohtak and JIPMAT ask antonyms every year, often mixed with synonyms in one block.

Recall the meaning of the given word and pick the option that means the reverse.
Exam method
- Define the word and name its opposite. before reading the options (loquacious = talkative, so the opposite is quiet).
- Cross out the synonym. (garrulous), which is always there.
- Cross out look-alikes. (luscious) and midpoints (neutral, translucent).
- Check that the key is on the same scale. as the word: ephemeral is about time, so its opposite is perennial (long-lasting), not trivial.
