Quick answer

IPMATway (ipmatway.com) is a free preparation site for IPMAT Indore, IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT, with no fee, no ads and no paid plan. Its strongest features are an adaptive engine that measures each topic, serves questions at your level and predicts your score; full mocks built fresh to each exam's pattern with a detailed report (estimated percentile band, attempt-strategy score, the 3 things that cost you the most marks); and a personal study plan that re-plans every night from your practice. It has no live classes or human mentors, so some students use it alongside a paid course.

Today on the site: 9,771 practice questions, 938 of them real past-year questions, 8 past-year papers in the mocks menu, 72 chapters, 235 sub-topic notes, 1,542 lessons (1,069 with a video).

Free doesn't mean basic. IPMATway was built after studying the major paid IPMAT courses and the past papers, and it does things paid series rarely list: it measures you, adapts to you, re-tests your mistakes and re-plans your study every night. Here is everything, in plain words, with what each part does for your score.

It finds out where you stand

Before you study, it measures you topic by topic, so you don't waste weeks on what you already know.

  • A 10-minute adaptive diagnostic

A short test that picks each next question from your earlier answers: the topic it is least sure about, at a difficulty where you have about an even chance. You can go deeper (up to 40 Quants questions, plus optional Verbal and LR / DI parts), pause, and change an earlier answer.

Why it helps your score: A few well-chosen questions tell more than a long fixed test, so you get a starting map in minutes.

  • A strengths and weak-spots report card

For every section, chapter and sub-topic: Strong, Known, Needs work, Not known yet or Not tested yet, with how sure the estimate is. It lists your strengths and the weak spots that carry the most marks in your exam, to work on first. These are the S and W of a SWOT, topic by topic. You can correct any line you disagree with, and prove it with a short practice set.

Why it helps your score: You start on the topics that pay, not the ones you happen to like.

  • A predicted score, with a range

Your expected score for your exam, worked out per section from your mastery of each topic and the exam's marking (an MCQ counts only when attempting it pays, because of negative marks). After every mock, the gap between predicted and actual corrects it.

Why it helps your score: You see whether you are on track for a cut-off long before the exam, and it gets more accurate the more you practise.

Practice that adapts to you

The question bank is large, but what you see is chosen for you.

  • Questions at your level

When you don't pick a difficulty, practice serves the questions you have a 65-80% chance on first, from your ability on that micro-topic and how hard each question has proved for real students.

Why it helps your score: Too easy teaches nothing, too hard only demoralises. That band is where you learn fastest.

  • A next-best-action engine

Every possible next step (a lesson, a practice set, a revision, an error fix, a speed or accuracy drill, a mock) is scored by the marks it is likely to add per hour of study, for you. A topic that gives very few marks per hour after real effort is parked, so the time goes where it pays.

Why it helps your score: With limited time before the exam, the order you study in matters as much as how much you study.

  • Questions that don't run out

Many quant questions come from templates that write the same question type with new numbers, and code computes every answer. Any templated question can show you 5 more.

Why it helps your score: You practise the method, not a memorised answer.

  • No memorising answers

The same question is not served to you again for 21 days, a near-copy waits 7 days, and after a mock its questions stay out of practice for 14 days.

Why it helps your score: When a question comes back, you have to solve it again, so your accuracy is real.

  • A 4-step hint ladder and confidence tags

Stuck? Hints come one step at a time. Before answering you can tag sure / unsure / guess, and "sure but wrong" answers are shown separately in your analysis.

Why it helps your score: Confident mistakes are the most expensive ones in an exam with negative marking.

Your mistakes get fixed, not forgotten

Most students re-read solutions and make the same mistake in the next mock. Here a mistake has a schedule.

  • An error log that re-tests you

Every wrong, skipped or very slow answer goes into your error log. The same kind of question comes back with new numbers after 2, 7 and 21 days until you get it right.

Why it helps your score: Spaced re-tests are how a mistake actually stops happening.

  • Daily revision sums

A few quant questions every day from topics you have finished, leaning to the older and weaker ones.

Why it helps your score: Chapters you did in month one are still sharp in month six.

  • Formula flash cards that come back before you forget

Every formula as a card, must-know ones first, on spaced repetition.

Why it helps your score: Formulas are free marks only if you remember them on exam day.

Mocks that feel like the exam

Full papers for all three exams, then a report that tells you what to change.

  • Full mocks in each exam's pattern

IPMAT Indore (90 questions, three 40-minute sections with the sectional lock, short-answer questions with no negative marks), IPMAT Rohtak (120 questions in 120 minutes) and JIPMAT (100 questions in 150 minutes), each built fresh from a blueprint of question types and a difficulty curve. There is no fixed number to buy: you can keep taking new ones.

Why it helps your score: Timing and section strategy are half of IPMAT, and only full papers on the real clock train them.

    Free mock tests

  • An exam-like screen

The question palette in the standard colours, Mark for Review, instructions screens, the on-screen keypad for short answers, and an exam-day mode with no pause and auto-submit.

Why it helps your score: Nothing on the real day should be new to you.

  • Sectional, chapter, custom and shared mocks

Sectional tests for one section, chapter tests after a chapter, custom tests from chapters you pick (or only topics you've learnt), an option to lean a mock towards your weak topics (up to 1 in 5 questions, the pattern stays exact), and shared mocks: send a code to friends, everyone gets the same paper and a group board.

Why it helps your score: You can test exactly what you just studied, or race your friends on one paper.

  • A 5-minute warm-up before full mocks

An optional warm-up on your past mistakes before a full-length paper.

Why it helps your score: You start the mock already in exam mode.

  • Past-year papers

Real past-year questions labelled "actual PYQ" with their exam and year, past-year papers in the mocks menu, and chapter-wise past-year tests.

Why it helps your score: Past questions show the real style and difficulty of each chapter.

    Previous year papers

A report after every mock

One screen that says what happened and what to do next week.

  • Score, estimated percentile band and accuracy

Your score per section and an estimated percentile band, worked out from past cut-offs and public score-percentile tables. It is labelled as an estimate, not an official percentile, and shown only for full-length papers.

Why it helps your score: You know roughly where a score stands, without a made-up rank.

  • An attempt-strategy score out of 100

Separate from accuracy: did you cover the easy questions, avoid negatives, stop sinking time into wrong answers, skip the right hard ones, keep a good pace?

Why it helps your score: Many students lose more marks to attempt choices than to not knowing the maths.

  • The 3 things that cost you the most marks, and 3 actions for next week

The biggest leaks of the mock (for example time on wrong answers, negative marks, hard-question gambles), and three actions with a link to do each.

Why it helps your score: A mock is only useful if it changes what you do next.

  • Ideal-attempt overlay, fatigue curve and replay

Which questions you should have attempted versus skipped next to what you did, how your accuracy moved through the paper, and a replay timeline of where the minutes went.

Why it helps your score: You see exactly where the paper slipped away.

  • Solutions with your time and a faster method

Every question with your answer, the time you took, the solution, a faster approach and the video. You can compare any two mocks.

Why it helps your score: Reviewing a mock properly is where most of the learning is.

  • Your exam-day game plan

From your last full mocks: which question types to attempt first and which to leave for last or skip, updated after every full mock.

Why it helps your score: You walk into the exam with a plan built from your own numbers.

A plan that runs itself

Built from your exam date, your hours and your diagnostic.

  • A personal study plan to your exam date

Quants, Verbal and LR / DI run side by side, chapters in the order they build on each other and by marks per hour for your exam. Lessons you already know are skipped; every task says why it is there.

Why it helps your score: No guessing what to do today.

  • It re-plans every night

Each night the plan is updated from what you actually did and how you did. Want your own order? Switch to "my own plan" and it keeps only the daily basics (error re-tests, reviews, vocab, reading, formulas, the weekly test).

Why it helps your score: Missed a day or raced ahead? The plan follows you, not the other way round.

  • Analytics that decide for you

Readiness per section, marks lost in mocks, time versus ideal, a chapter by difficulty heatmap, this week versus last, a past-year trend explorer, and a reverse planner: for your target score, which chapters give the cheapest extra marks.

Why it helps your score: Your data points at the next chapter to study.

  • Daily habits

A short daily checklist: vocab, the day's RC, revision sums and due error fixes.

Why it helps your score: Small daily habits add up to marks in Verbal and in accuracy.

Verbal and reading, trained properly

The Verbal section decides IPMAT Indore ranks, so it gets its own tools.

  • RC with the evidence

After an RC question, the sentence that proves the answer lights up in the passage, and each wrong option names its trap. There is a mode where you highlight the evidence first.

Why it helps your score: You learn to find answers in the text instead of guessing.

    Past-paper RC passages (free)

  • A Daily Live RC and daily reading

A fresh RC passage every day with a day board, and short opinion pieces to read with simple check questions.

Why it helps your score: Reading every day is the only reliable way to get faster at RC.

  • A vocab trainer that schedules each word

10, 20 or 30 minutes a day: revision first, then new words, idioms and roots. Each word comes back just before you would forget it (FSRS, the memory model modern Anki uses).

Why it helps your score: You remember the words on exam day, not just the night you learnt them.

  • Para-jumble and grammar practice

A para-jumble trainer with type-in answers like the real short-answer questions, and a grammar bank.

Why it helps your score: Indore's para jumbles have no options to guess from.

Speed and exam temperament

IPMAT is a speed test as much as a knowledge test.

  • The Calculation Gym

Timed mental-maths drills: percentages, squares, conversions and quick products. Free, no sign-in.

Why it helps your score: Fast arithmetic saves minutes in every quant question.

    Calculation Gym

  • A reading-speed test

Measures your words per minute and your comprehension. Free, no sign-in.

Why it helps your score: Knowing your pace tells you how many RC passages you can afford in the exam.

    Reading speed test

  • Skip-decision and set-selection trainers

Train the 5-second call: attempt or skip this quant question, and which LR / DI set to pick first.

Why it helps your score: Choosing the right questions is worth as much as solving them.

Learn every topic

Notes and lessons for the whole syllabus, open to read.

  • Notes and video lessons

For each sub-topic: the idea, the exam method, worked examples and common traps, free to read without an account. Lesson videos can have English and Hinglish audio.

Why it helps your score: You can learn a chapter from zero here, at your own pace.

    The syllabus map

  • "Explain it back"

After a lesson you write the main idea in your own words, and the site checks it for the key ideas of the lesson.

Why it helps your score: If you can explain it, you have understood it.

  • Answers you can trust

Every quant answer is computed and checked by code; verbal answers are reviewed. Report any question: when several students report one, it is hidden until it is reviewed.

Why it helps your score: A wrong answer key teaches the wrong thing.

  • AI help, when it is switched on

A Socratic tutor, AI hints, "explain differently" and "check my approach". Only the question and what you type are sent, never your name or email.

Why it helps your score: Help at 11 pm when nobody else is awake.

What IPMATway doesn't have

  • No live classes and no human teachers or mentors: you learn from notes, video lessons and practice.
  • No offline centres or printed books.
  • The percentile on a mock is an estimate from past cut-offs and public tables, not an all-India rank against thousands of test-takers on the same paper.
  • It covers IPMAT Indore, IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT only, not other BBA entrance exams.

Questions

Is IPMATway good for IPMAT preparation?
Yes, for practice, mocks, analysis and planning it is as complete as most paid courses, and it is free. It measures every topic with an adaptive diagnostic, serves practice at your level, re-tests your mistakes after 2, 7 and 21 days, gives full mocks in each exam's pattern with a detailed report, and builds a study plan that re-plans every night. It has no live classes or human mentors.
Is IPMATway really free?
Yes. Practice, full mocks, past-year questions, notes, video lessons, the study plan, analytics and the tools are free. There are no ads, no paid plan and no data selling. Notes are open to everyone; the rest needs a free account (Google or an email code).
Is IPMATway good for IPMAT Indore?
Yes. IPMAT Indore mocks follow the three 40-minute sections with the sectional lock and the short-answer quant section with no negative marks, and real Indore past-year questions are labelled with their year. IIM Indore does not publish question counts, so the mocks use the 90-question split students describe.
Are IPMATway mocks like the real exam?
They follow each exam's pattern, timing and marking, in an exam-like screen with the question palette, Mark for Review and an exam-day mode with no pause. Each mock is built fresh from a blueprint of question types and a difficulty curve. The percentile shown is an estimate, not an official percentile.
Does IPMATway have a SWOT or strengths and weaknesses analysis?
It has the strengths and weaknesses part: after the diagnostic, a report card marks every section, chapter and sub-topic Strong, Known, Needs work or Not known yet, with how sure it is, lists your strengths, and ranks the weak spots by the marks they carry in your exam. Practice and mocks keep updating it.
IPMATway vs iQuanta, IMS or Career Launcher: which is better?
It depends on what you need. Paid courses give live classes, human mentors and (some) offline centres. IPMATway gives practice, full mocks with a detailed report, adaptive practice and a nightly study plan for free. Prices and mock counts from their own sites are on the comparison page (/ipmatway-vs-paid-mocks).
Can IPMATway replace coaching?
For practice, mocks, analysis, planning and fixing mistakes, yes. If you want a teacher to take you through a chapter live, use it alongside classes: the notes and lessons cover the syllabus, but there are no live teachers.
Who makes IPMATway?
An IPMAT aspirant, for aspirants. It launched on 27 October 2026, is independent and is not affiliated with any IIM or NTA.
