The idea
Two rows face each other: one row faces south, the other north, and each person faces the one opposite. The only new idea is direction: the south-facing row has its right on the west side. No JIPMAT or Rohtak PYQ so far uses two rows; these PW sets are practice at d2-d3.
Textbook vs exam method
Textbook method
- Draw two rows of seats, both numbered west to east.
- Mark which row faces south (right = west) and which faces north (right = east).
- Place the clues that fix an end or a "faces" pair.
- Place the right/left clues, reading each from the person's own facing.
Exam method
- One numbering for both rows;. "faces" = same seat number.
- Flip once. write "R = west" above the south-facing row.
- Answer chains. ("second to the left of the one who faces B1") in two steps: find who faces B1, then count from that person's facing.
