The exam method
- Attribute sets. "No lady is a Doctor or a Designer" fixes the sexes of the Doctor and the Designer, and then their spouses.
- Negative clues. "P is the father of R but not the husband of Q" sends Q to the other side of the family.

Seven members: three female, four male; two Engineers, two Lawyers, a Doctor, a Designer, a Cricketer; no lady is a Doctor or Designer; Hema (Lawyer) is married to Megha (Doctor); Jemmy (Designer) is married to Kanak (neither Lawyer nor Cricketer); no two ladies share a profession; Supriya is the sister of Piku (Engineer). What is Supriya's profession?
Solution: Cricketer. Megha and Jemmy are men, so Hema, Kanak and Supriya are the ladies; Kanak is an Engineer, Hema a Lawyer, so Supriya takes the Cricketer.
