Six shopkeepers sold ruled notebooks: P 370, Q 290. Their totals (blank + ruled) are P 550 and Q 680. What is the average number of blank notebooks of P and Q?
Solution: 285. Blank P = 550 - 370 = 180; blank Q = 680 - 290 = 390; average = 570/2 = 285.
