  1. Read the base. For "what percent more/less than" questions, underline the word after "than": that quantity is the base.

In June a shop sold 5920 pens and pencils, in the ratio pencils : pens = 81 : 67. In July the difference between pencils and pens was 1500, with ratio 241 : 166. How many pens were sold in June and July together?
