The idea of Select team under if-then constraints

A team is picked from a pool under rules of the form "A and B not together", "if A then B", "exactly one of X and Y". The set has only a handful of valid teams, and the skill is to list them.

The exam method

  1. Fixed pairs first. "Arpit iff Amal" joins two people into one unit.
  2. Exactly-one rules. they give a two-way split at once (Ashwani branch or Arpit branch).
  3. Kill branches fast. a branch that cannot fill the team size is dead.
  4. Budget sets. list all triples within the limit, tick off the barred pairs, then read the maximum.
